This app conveniently allows you to enter a few key variables to determine the rate of leaking from a pinhole leak in a pipe (or vessel). Enter the amount of time too and it will tell you the total amount leaked. Very convenient for DEQ / EPA reporting purposes to be able to calculate the leak amount right there in the field, so you can call in the leak with an estimate of leaking without having to go back to the office and use a spreadsheet, so it saves valuable time in the reporting process as well.

Liquid and vapor flow are calculated assuming an orifice calculation. Enter the pipe internal pressure, liquid density, and hole diameter. English units only supported. For vapor, enter the fluid temperature, k (cp/cv), and molecular weight. The notes section of the app gives guidance on the variables, especially the k values (with some links to helpful websites included), and the coefficient of discharge (C) guidance. If you enter a bad number, the app will correct it to a reasonable estimate.

A separate tab allows you to calculate a puddle size (if you find a puddle in a field, measure it)--and consider reporting that as your spill quantity.

Error messages and data check messages are included to ensure you dont have a major typo or something like that.
